Lakeview is the first Montessori Preschool and Elementary School in the region.
Montessorians understand that a child's self-esteem comes from an internal sense of pride in his or her own accomplishments. The goal of a Montessori school is to prepare young leaders who are fully qualified to enter the academic programs of their choice at a preferred university or college.
A Montessori school promotes a hands-on approach to learning versus a focus on seatwork. Students interact with others of different ages, in an environment where younger students can learn from the older children and older children have an opportunity to lead.
The Montessori experience begins with a deep respect for children as unique individuals, and an accredited internationally developed curriculum that includes five main pillars: practical life, sensorial, math, language and cultural learning.
Lakeview Montessori School promotes self-paced, collaborative learning to ignite the passion and curiosity of our students. Montessori nurtures the child’s innate desire to learn, allowing them to develop strong academics, leadership, self-discipline, independence, and responsibility – traits they will carry with them through high school and beyond.
For over 45 years, Lakeview Montessori School has built a tradition of serving children implementing the educational philosophy of Dr. Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and pioneer in child development who observed that children have an innate aptitude and desire for acquiring knowledge about their world. Montessori’s approach of “following the child” is at the root of our philosophy at Lakeview Montessori School.
