Lakeview Montessori School (LMS) was founded by Ms. Janice Mayhew in 1978. It was originally located in St. Mark’s Church Hall, St. Clair Beach, with an enrolment of 15 students. With a quickly expanding student population, LMS soon outgrew its initial location.  After several years, changes and moves, we are now at our present location in our 2-story 6500 square foot building.  Our elected Board of Directors  oversee the operation of the school which became incorporated in 1981, was registered as a  non-profit organization in the same year and was then granted charitable organization status.

After school activities of tutoring, music lessons, chess, Mad Science, Math Mania, etc. have proven to be very successful, with enrolment increasing each year.
